Day 17: Favorite Quote from Your Favorite Book

New Moon - Stephenie Meyer The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho City of Ashes - Cassandra Clare The Fellowship of the Ring - J.R.R. Tolkien

How the heck does someone answer these questions. I really don't get it.

Okay, you can't call all these my "favorite" books. But these are some of my favorite quotes.

New Moon: "And yet, I found I could survive. I was alert, I felt the pain - the aching loss that radiated out from my chest, sending wracking waves of hurt through my limbs and head - but it was manageable. I could live through it. I didn’t feel like the pain had weakened over time, rather that I’d grown strong enough to bear it."

The Alchemist: "One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving."

City of Ashes: "When I was a little kid, I realized that if you say any word over and over fast enough, it loses all meaning. I'd lie awake saying the words over and over to myself--'sugar,' 'mirror,' 'whisper,' 'dark.' 'Sister,'" he said softly. "You're my sister."

The Fellowship of the Ring: " 'I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had ever happened.'

'So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us.' "

"Not all those who wander are lost."
