I'm Thalia! I run a book blog called Pictures in the Words and I hope to be an editor for YA fiction. I'm a GoodReads refugee!
This is slow going (because I'm concentrating harder on video games I won't get to play when I go back to school, shhhhhh), but the story has picked up quite a bit. I felt a little icky when Lancelet told Morgaine that "mostly there isn't any rape anymore," because I REALLY don't trust MZB's definition of rape.
I mean, heck, Lancelet himself came close to raping Morgaine--she asked him to stop, and then he pulled out a "Do you mind?" after he'd already started pulling at her clothes. Morgaine said she didn't, but...I don't know. It's kind of distorting the image of Lancelet as the most virtuous knight, and his relationship with Morgaine is just weird to me. And her unfounded hatred of Gwenhwyfar because Lancelet likes her more... blah. There's a lot of girly drama when we should, perhaps, be worrying about more important things.
