I'm Thalia! I run a book blog called Pictures in the Words and I hope to be an editor for YA fiction. I'm a GoodReads refugee!
Well, it was a bit anti-climactic, since I guessed the "twist" from the book's summary, so I wasn't surprised when it was finally revealed. That's a bit disappointing, I guess--I really wanted this book to shock me, and it didn't.
It wasn't bad, though, nor was it all that great. It just...was. I'd say this is a pretty dangerous book for anyone with an eating disorder or who is triggered by eating disorders to read--Zoe's narration and her attitude towards food, her body, and weight gain is really dangerous to read if you're not in a stable state of mind that tells you she's wrong about her outlook. Despite what we learn in the end, there is no resolution, no "aha" about Zoe's eating disorder, nor does her attitude towards it seem to change very much.
