I'm Thalia! I run a book blog called Pictures in the Words and I hope to be an editor for YA fiction. I'm a GoodReads refugee!
I read this in one sitting for a class yesterday. Despite the fact that I've heard, "Stay gold, Ponyboy" dozens of times before, I never knew where it came from.
It was a little juvenile, but had terribly serious subject matter at the same time, so I'm not sure how I felt about the writing as a whole. I was thinking three stars through most of it, but by the end I'd decided on four--it was a pretty good book, and I enjoyed reading it. The ending and the way everything ends up playing out really struck a chord with me and I've missed feeling that way when I read. It's not perfect, but I'm glad that this is one book that many, many people have the chance to read in school.
