Uh...

 

Okay. I'll be honest. Without the little chronology/scene shift guide my teacher gave me, I would have absolutely no idea what's going on. I've only made it through the first section (Benjy narrating) and part of the second section (Quentin), but it's so...confusing. I'm just trying to keep my head above water! Sometimes it'll shift scenes three or four times in one sentence, and I have no idea how to read this without the guide I was given. What if I had just picked this up at random with no idea what to expect? How would I begin to understand it??

 

I'm really not sure. I mean, I like it, and I enjoy the artistry of the style, but it really doesn't make reading eighty pages a night very easy... I have to really take my time in order to understand the events and the characters. Has anyone else read this?
