Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - J.K. Rowling, Mary GrandPré

I can definitely see how the movies condensed the events of the book in a favorable way. I don't really enjoy the constant running around, doing unexplained things, Harry barely asking any questions about the new world he's entered... It leaves me feeling a bit lost. And I still don't like Rowling's writing. I know this is supposed to be a children's book, but I've read plenty of children's books that don't feel this immature.

I do like it for the most part, but I'll probably give it three (possibly four--possibly) stars for this one. I'm hoping the next books mature a bit. Like I've said before, I do like most things about Harry Potter, which is why I love the movies--so there wasn't really a chance I would hate this.

I'll finish today!
