Warm Bodies - Isaac Marion This is the first book in a long, long time that I really, thoroughly enjoyed. I blasted through it in a day and a half–in the middle of all my projects for school and finals coming up in three days–and I found R, the main character, to be such a lovable narrator that, even though I found flaws, I didn’t really mind. There were things that made no sense, things that I would probably change if given the chance, but I simply didn’t mind because I cared about what was going on. I won’t call this book perfect, and I won’t call it flawless–not by a long shot. Yet I still devoured every word and read nearly the whole of it in just a few hours.Of course, I saw the trailers for the movie and I was desperate to see it. And I just about cried with joy when I discovered it was based on a book. Maybe some of my joyous feelings toward this novel come from my excitement for the movie, so in a way, I wish that I could have discovered it when it first came out, to be sure I had no bias. But I really can’t promise that–and don’t expect it to be like the movie. It’s funny, but it’s more serious than the film seems to be, with less action even. The ending was less than brilliant and really the downfall of the book, for me, but…overall, I’m really glad with it, and I could easily call it one of my favorites, despite its flaws.Read more?http://thaliasbooks.tumblr.com/post/41593354302/warm-bodies-review
